Calne Heritage Centre

As custodians of all fourteen volumes of the C&T Harris Magazine, published monthly between January 1927 and June 1940, Calne Heritage Centre started a Go Fund Me page to raise the funds necessary to digitise the collection and ensure its survival for future generations of the Calne community. The project would eventually see thousands of pages digitised and the content made accessible to members of the public. “Each magazine is a treasure trove of information,” Tim Havenith explains on the funding page, “with entries over thirteen years from various places in England including Dunmow, Highbridge, Chippenham (Wiltshire), Eastleigh, Leeds, Redruth, Totnes, and many others – making it not just a local resource for Calne, but a national and unique resource”.

We were immensely grateful to have the opportunity of digitising this wonderful collection, which will go on to share the history of the community for many many years to come.
